LITTLE BIG BAND play 1930's 1940's music. We are based in East Yorkshire and play for lots of 40's ‘theme night’ dances. The band plays specially written arrangements of this period to give an authentic big band sound, but using only six musicians and a female singer, so as you can see the band is much more affordable than a 15 piece and of course live music is infinitely preferable to a Disco. This summer has seen Goosebumps playing all over the county of Kent at large open air events. The Hop festival Faversham, Broadstairs folk week, Canterbury city centre at the European food fair. Herne Bay 'Big Band Day' run by the local council, the Kent County show and many other festivals too many to mention. We are attracting an audience from all age groups as well as vintage dance groups (jivers and lindy hoppers) and this adds to the atmosphere and fun of our shows. RAF
BLAKELAW was a Second World War Royal Air Force Fighter Command
station based at what is now Kenton Bar, Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Although the
site now contains government buildings there still exists an underground bunker
with an operations room, mess and plant room. Until recently the bunker remained
hidden from general knowledge just as it had done during the early years of
the War. A small number of enthusiasts have formed the ‘RAF Blakelaw
Preservation Group’ with a two fold purpose: 1. Restoring the bunker
to its former glory and making it available to the general public as an historical
and educational establishment. 2. Finding former RAF staff who served in the
bunker and former members of 13 Group Fighter Command to collect and preserve
their stories for posterity. This small website takes you on a tour of what
is an eerie reminder of the days when this country was under threat of invasion:
Visit their site at: http://www.bunker13.110mb.com

The group will be inviting people to subscribe to memberships as friends of the bunker but details haven’t been released as yet. MESOTHELIOMA CANCER - My name is Alex White and I am the Communications Director for Mesothelioma Symptoms. As you are probably aware, mesothelioma is one of the deadliest forms of cancer today. Unfortunately, it is also one of the most misunderstood diseases in recent times and continues to cause extensive harm. Members of the U.S. Armed Services have not only dedicated their lives to their country, but they are also unfortunately the most common victims of mesothelioma due to their increased risk of exposure to asbestos. A large number of veterans have been subjected to asbestos over the last century, and many have and will eventually succumb to mesothelioma. However, our site is an excellent resource to learn about the dangers of this disease and the plight of over one million American veterans. Visit http://www.mesotheliomasymptoms.com/veterans-and-mesothelioma
PLURAL MESOTHELIOMA - Countless veterans are currently suffering from life-threatening illnesses that are a result of exposure to asbestos, a material that was commonly used in hundreds of military applications, products, and ships because of its resistance to fire. Our organization provides a complete list of occupations, ships, and shipyards that could have put our Veterans at risk for developing asbestos-related diseases. In addition, we have thousands of articles regarding asbestos and mesothelioma and we've even created a veterans-specific section on our website in order to help inform about the dangers of asbestos exposure. We offer information ranging from a complete list of symptoms, to treatment options, and steps to take after a diagnosis. Mesothelioma and Lung Cancer

RT. REV. IAN WALTON is a full time priest who is happy to travel anywhere in the northern end of England, if required, to assist in the role of a US army chaplain re-enactor. He has a full dress uniform and will arrange to get appropriate field/combat kit for other occasions. If invited to any 1940’s event he sees his involvement as educating and informing people about the role of the chaplains in WW2 and just being available as a priest to people in a 'non-church' environment, plus having some fun on the way.
